Monitoring impunity in the Jordan Valley. Strengthening civil society tactics to document Human Rights violations and reinforce their role as Rule of Law and Access to Justice promoters
This project aims to promote accountability in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, reinforcing the role of the Civil Society Organizations as Rule of Law and access to Justice promoters.
The project will implement an intervention directed to strengthen the role of the Popular Committees in the 20 targeted communities by reinforcing their capacities to document Human Rights violations and promote accountability and reinforcing their role as Rule of Law promoters by opening four legal procedures in the Jordan Valley area.
The Jordan Valley was one of the first areas that Israel designated for settlement after it captured the West Bank in 1967. Since then, between 6,000 and 9,400 Jewish settlers have established themselves in area.
