Human Rights Realities in East and West: mapping the needs of local youth scenes

Between the 21st and 28th of October, 16 young activists from Belarus, Serbia, Spain and The Netherlands will gather in The Hague to participate in the Study Visit: Human Rights Realities in East and West: mapping the needs of local youth scenes.

During one intensive week the participants will investigate and assess the state of key human rights in our societies, such as the freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, through the exploration of different case studies. Platform Spartak, with the support of NOVACT, organizes the event with the aim to connect European activist scenes or individuals on a local-to-local basis, to map their needs and interests, to provide them with a solid basis for future cooperation, and furthermore, to guide them on the way towards local social transformation and civic activism.

The Study Visit will include several sessions on the problematization of human rights realities, intercultural learning, working with key human rights in diverse communities, toolbox sessions, documentary screenings and NGO visits.

If you are interested in the struggle for human rights and you are between 18-35 years old, you can participate in this project. We are looking for participants who:

  • are interested in topics and issues connected to the Human Rights field;
  • are active or want to become active in their local community
  • want to participate actively in the Study Visit and possible follow up projects in the future.
