On November 28, NOVACT participates in the conference from the Euro Arab Center of Catalonia about Palestine, explaining the figure of the Italian activist Vittorio Arrigoni in the struggle against the occupation.
For five years, the Euro Arab Center of Catalonia in Barcelona organizes the Cultural Days of the Mediterranean where it gives relevance of the peoples and countries that make up the Mediterranean through the dissemination of its culture and traditions. This year, it has posed a major challenge, on the commemoration of the 65 anniversary of the Nakba and the designation of Palestine as a member observer state of the UN, the conference want to raise and explain what is Palestine, its culture, its traditions and its people.
The activities began on June 28 with the recital of poetry Mahmoud Darwish and will last until the 25th of November with the presentation of the documentary “The Healing Notes”.
NOVACT participates in this activity next November 28th to discuss the figure of Vittorio Arrigoni. Member of the NGO International Solidarity Movement and reporter for various media, Arrigoni was a well-known activist for the Palestinian cause, especially in the Gaza Strip. His death on April 14 , 2011 on hands of a terrorist group shocked the international community, and the Palestinian Authority and Hamas condemned the killing of the activist.
Also participating in the conference Massimiliano Rumignani, President of Altra Italia and member of Euro Arab Center of Catalonia Laurent Cohen Medina, Co-President of the Catalan Association of Jews and Palestinians, and Lola Badenes Coordinator in Catalonia of ACSUR – Las Segovias.
The day will begin at 18:00 hours talking about the Palestinian diaspora and continue at 19:00 with the film screening of Vittorio Arrigoni documentary, who will open the conference.
Admission is free and is held at the Passeig de Sant Joan, 26 º -2 ª, Barcelona.
