Coalition of Women for Peace (CWP) urges the international community to put an immediate stop to the killing of civilians in Gaza and calls on activists, organizations and human rights defenders to take the streets without fear in a demonstration on Saturday 19t July 20:00 in Habima Square in Tel Aviv.

Coalition of Women for Peace urges the international community to put an immediate stop to the killing of civilians in Gaza. Death toll is over 200 among them 50 children. CWP is determined to go back to the street despite violence and threats of violence against protestors and issued a wide call to join the upcoming protest against the military campaign planned for SATURDAY / 19.7 / 20:00 / HABIMA SQUARE.

Last Saturday’s demonstration against the military campaign in Habima Square turned violent. An organized group of right wing activists tore banners, stormed near-by cafes chasing anti-war protestors. At least one protestor needed medical treatment following a severe beating. The violence against protestors was widely documented. All main news channels in Israel covered the event.

The attack on protestors at the heart of Tel Aviv was shocking to many. It was carried out by few dozens, but is a symptom of a wider society-wide escalation of hatred and violence, directed against innocent Palestinian citizens and dissenters. The Israeli government is unable and unwilling to stop this incitement and is responsible for the grave consequence it may have.

We invite organizations, movements, and activists across the board to join forces for the upcoming demonstration. There will be assigned demo coordinators present. Everyone must yield to their instructions with respect to congregation, general conduct and dispersion of the demo.

Arrests in Bil’in

The human rights defender Mohammad Khatib and the Israeli writter and director, Shai Pollack, have been arrested during the every Friday nonviolent demonstration against the Israeli wall in Bil’in. This time the demo has been focused on denouncing the massacre of Gaza so that participants wore bloodstained white clothes.

The army fired tear gas, rubber bullets and sound bombs directly to the 50-60 people who were demonstrating and activated an alert that keeps several israeli jeeps controlling the separation wall.
