February 26th 2015. International Institute for Nonviolent Action (NOVACT), working in collaboration with Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), has launched a call for proposals which aim at offering a financial assistance to support Tunisian and Jordanian civil society organizations and Syrian communities in Jordan in the implementation of projects on Democratic Governance, as part of MASAR Program.
MASAR is a Spanish Cooperation program aimed at supporting the processes of democratic governance in the Arab world. International Institute for Nonviolent Action (NOVACT), an organization that promotes international peace building actions with a experts and activists network in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia, is working in collaboration with AECID to identify the potential applicants.
Grants will be awarded this 2015 and will have a maximum duration of 12 months and budget between € 40,000 and € 100,000. Projects to attend this call should be oriented to actions that facilitate the participation of civil society, especially women and youth, by promoting culture of peace, freedom of expression and networking.
The priorities areas to be funded are actions to reinforce the alternative media and community radios; to strengthen the role of woman in the media; to strengthen civil society organizations as trade unions, networks, associations; actions to promote the Political empowerment of women; actions to prevent the gender violence and to promote the culture of peace. Applicants could be nonprofit organizations registered in Jordan as nonprofit companies, NGOs, foundations, trade unions.
