The Palestinian Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC) informed that Israel intends to demolish, after the end of Ramdan in a few days, some structure including residential as the first stage of the eviction of the whole Susiya village. A Palestinian village in the Israeli occupied West Bank. An ancient historic village where its residents lived in ancient caves for decades.
This village had already been displaced once to make room for an israeli settlement. On May 5th 2015, Israel’s High Court of Justice ruled to allow the army to demolish the entire village of Susya and expel its residents, numbering around 340 men, women and children, to Area A of the Occupied Territories. Also, in 2001 the army destroyed the caves at the present site and tried to evict the residents. The High Court of Justice ordered the army to stop the eviction. After the caves were destroyed, not having a roof over their heads, the residents were forced to erect tents and sheds to survive.
Now it is under imminent threat of being destroyed again. Destruction of the village would create a severe humanitarian crisis.
“Amongst the beneficiaries of the displacement of the people of Susiya are settlers who have seized the land and use it for agriculture. PSCC calls everyone to take action to prevent this coming demolishing: “If you are in Occupied Palestine go immediately to Susiya stay with them be prepared and ready in the time of eviction. If you can’t go there and/or you’re out side share this so the world can know what is happening to our lands”.
