Tender: Terms of Reference for expert in political participation of women and education in Morocco

NOVA – Centre for Social Innovation (NOVA), in collaboration with the Forum Alternatives Morocco (FMAS) and SUDS open a call for tender for a researcher to conduct a study on the relationship between political participation of women and education in Morocco.

This tender is part of the “Venus. Strengthening the participation of women in politics and education in Morocco”

The overall project objective is to help create a favorable cultural, legal and social environment to full political participation of women. The specific objective of the project is to strengthen the effective political participation of women in the Moroccan parliament, and promote the strengthening of strategies of access to primary and secondary education of women in Morocco.

Expected Results

  • R1. Strengthen the knowledge of the causes and how to fight against political discrimination against women in Morocco (rights holders) and their relation to discrimination in access to education;
  • R2. Strengthen the capacities of CSOs in terms of commitment and coordination of initiatives that promote public policy change to promote gender equality in access to education and participation in political institutions in Morocco;
  • R3. Implement a strategy of promotion and awareness at national and international levels to promote political participation of women in Parliament and its relationship with access to basic and secondary education.

 

Eligibility of applicants

  •  Be a legal entity or;
  • Be a specific type of organization such as: international (intergovernmental) NGO, public sector operators, local authorities, specialized consulting firm;
  • Be responsible for the service;
  • Depth knowledge of the legal system and social environment related to discrimination against women in Morocco causes. Knowledge of human rights from a gender mainstreaming is an asset.
  • Excellent writing skills and proven experience in the production of analyzes related to the topic under study.
  • Previous experience in advocacy, project management and a good knowledge of local civil society organizations including women’s rights.

The expert assessment is made on the following basis:

  •  Experience:
    •  Experience ascertained by the person or team responsible for research (20%)
    •  Expertise in the field of research and / or experience of action movements and social organizations of women and / or feminists in Morocco (40%)
  • Methodology proposed (40%)

• The CV of the person or group responsible for the study team.

• A methodological note including the objectives and expected results, approach and steps, research methods, information sources, timetable for implementation, etc .;

  • References relating to research and work carried out in projects;

Among the 20 November 2015, the candidate who applied will be notified of the final decision of the Contracting Authority.
