The role and impact of private military and security companies and settlement civilian self-defense forces on Pelestinian Human Rights.
The long occupation of the Palestinians by the state of Israel territories has taken in recent years, a new international dimension in the context of privatization of war and security. Israel has extended its own internal policy of privatizing security services to the occupied Palestinian territories, transferring to private contractors and even settler security tasks traditionally entrusted to their police and military. According to NOVACT researcher Dr. Leticia Armendariz, “Israel has delegated part of the maintenance of public order and security to several private military and security companies-most Israeli companies, but is also giving powers and responsibilities to armed settlers militias funded by the government and the army”.
