Call for proposals: NOVACT and AECID launched a call for proposals to support Syrian, Tunisian and Jordanian Civil Society

As part of the MASAR program hosted by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), International Institute for Nonviolent Action (NOVACT) has launched a call for proposals which aim at offering a financial assistance to support Tunisian and Jordanian civil society organizations and Syrian communities in Jordan in the implementation of projects on Democratic Governance.

MASAR is a Spanish Cooperation program aimed at supporting the processes of democratic governance in the Arab world. International Institute for Nonviolent Action (NOVACT), an organization that promotes international peace building action with a network of experts and activists in the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia, is working in collaboration with AECID to identify the potential applicants.

Projects to attend this call should be oriented towards actions that facilitate the participation of civil society, especially women and youth, by promoting culture of peace, freedom of expression and networking. Grants will be awarded this 2015 and will have a maximum duration of 12 months and budget between € 40,000 and € 100,000.

From March 8th, 2015 until Tuesday 17th March, 2015, 23:45 hours (local time)

Who can submit a proposal?

Local private nonprofit entities that are legally registered in Tunisia and / or Jordan.(Organizations of Civil Society, unions, NGOs, associations … etc.)

Which kind of actions will be funded?

  • Actions that facilitate the participation of the civil society, especially women and youth, in the developing of public policies.
  • Special focus on rural and suburban areas.
  • Duration of 12 months
  • Budget: from €40,000.00 to € 100,000.00
  • Find the examples of actions in the Guidelines EN / Guidelines AR / Guidelines FR.  Note that the only language allowed for this call is Spanish, English and French. No project written in Arabic will be evaluated.
